Hewitt Young Electric’s Site Division has grown exponentially in the last couple of years, becoming a full-fledged beast that has taken on some truly special projects. When Hewitt Young was deciding what project to highlight in our Project of the Quarter celebration, there was one obvious choice: Clarkson Civil.

At Hewitt Young, we have made it a habit to reward those individuals that go above and beyond to live our values. To reward those who continuously make it a great day, we established the Impactful Serving Leader Award, the Innovation Award, the Community Outreach Award, the Craftsmanship Award, and the Fun Kid Award.

2020 sure has been a year filled with twists and turns due to COVID-19, but we weren’t going to let that stop us from having some fun (safely, of course!) It was a beautiful day filled with lots of fun, laughs, and great food. We enjoyed some pre-packaged individual meals from Texas BBQ Joint with pulled pork, baked beans, and delicious cornbread. We brought out yard games like Cornhole and Kan-Jam for kids and adults to enjoy, and we also celebrated CEO Cody Hewitt’s birthday with Rumbleberry Pie from Special Touch Bakery. We work hard, so we play hard – a big thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the day with us!

Wellness is a word that can be defined in many ways, shifting its meaning depending on who or what you ask. For instance, Mirriam-Webster defines wellness as “the quality or state of being in good health especially as an actively sought goal”. Our Team defines wellness as feeling confident, comfortable, and healthy both physically and mentally. Wellness is something that we are actively trying to practice and improve upon every day, both in our homes and in the workplace.

We at Hewitt Young take pride in all our projects that we are fortunate enough to be a part of, especially those that improve resources and enable people to build a better future for themselves. Our work with the Bath Veteran’s Administration Community Living Center (CLC) has allowed us to improve and install key aspects that play an integral role in establishing a strong foundation for all those who enter through the doors.

It’s that time of the year again… kids are gearing up to head back into school, meaning we are tasked with finishing up all our work so each and every student can return safely to all of the great updates Hewitt Young has done!

When people think of what is important in the construction industry, safety is one of the first things that comes to mind. Staying safe while using tools, operating machinery, lifting heavy objects… the list is infinite. Now more than ever, safety is critical in every facet of our business. These unprecedented times due to COVID-19 have given a new meaning to “safety”, as we enforce measures both in the office and the field to keep all of our employees safe and healthy.

We at Hewitt Young strive to positively influence not only our team members, but the community around us. With the current state of unrest that plagues the world due to COVID-19, the time is now more than ever to do anything we can to build our community up to stand strong in the face of adversity.

Hewitt Young Electric’s expansion into the Albany Market has allowed us to get our hands in projects that have been both fun and fulfilling. We are always looking for projects that allow each person on our team to grow not only individually, but also as a cohesive group working together towards a common goal—ensuring that each project is successful for ourselves and our customers.
