Alfred State Electrical Trades Career Day

This week, Hewitt Young Electric was honored to be a part of the Alfred State Electrical Trades Career Fair.  This annual event provides an opportunity for students to meet with representatives from a variety of electrical trades professional businesses in one central location. Hewitt Young was happy to stand beside our local union, Local 86, encouraging the many future foremen to join the union. Unionized workplaces tend to have far lower worker turnover, giving us, the employer, the benefit of experienced workers and an incentive to invest in the skills of employees. Unions offer greater opportunities for training advancement to its’ members guaranteeing that they will be safer on the site, avoiding more injuries and potential safety hazards. Unions also carry excellent benefits packages for its’ members and their families!

We were happy to show students the benefits of joining our team! Topics of discussion ranged from the benefits of joining the union to work for a union employable shop, like ourselves, a day in the life of a foreman at Hewitt Young, our vision for success, our culture, and our how our industry-leading prefabrication department improves electrical installations.

We wish every attending student a fulfilling, successful career and hope that you all now see how “It’s Always a Great Day at Hewitt Young!”
